Tom attended USC where he pursued a BA in Theatre with a minor in dance. While still attending college Tom began dancing ballroom. This picture was Tom’s headshot when he worked in the Hollywood commercial and film industry for 16 years. He has been featured in national commercials in Hollywood and has worked with many celebrities as a teacher and performer. He fulfilled one of his life dreams when he was privileged to dance with Juliette Prowse in a PBS special. Tom has performed for two Presidents and is featured in the movie “Dance With Me”. Tom has been dancing and teaching ballroom since 1978. He is a World Exhibition Champion which is a style of ballroom dance also known as Theater Arts, Cabaret, or Adagio (dancing where overhead lifts are permitted and encouraged). Tom is a teacher and choreographer and has trained many couples, among them many World Champions in various styles of couple dancing. In 2007, Tom auditioned for and was accepted into the Windfall Dancers, Bloomington's oldest community modern dance collective. Windfall is comprised of a community of people who love to dance. They work to make sure that Bloomington has a space where the community can come together to create, learn, and enjoy dance. Tom is a member of the Dance Company and teaches group classes in Ballroom & Social Dance as well as the Youth Company. In 2008, Tom aligned himself with the Panache School of Ballroom & Social Dance as an Independent Instructor. He is thrilled to be affiliated with this top-notch studio and teaches 2 hour workshops most Saturdays on such topics as Body Organics, Cuban Motion and West Coast Swing. In 2005 Tom moved to Bloomington, IN, US from San Francisco, CA, US where he taught and choreographed at the Metronome Ballroom. There he directed the showcase performances of the pros and amateurs at the Cowell Theatre.
